Asylum Dev Diary 55

It’s been a while. Lots of real life things getting in the way stopping me from my Asylum development. That should¬†be over now so I can continue.

Today I have been playing around with getting together the bits I will need for a police officer. Using a third party resource and the pretty cool online 3D modeller – clara.io – I have created an armed policeman without a head. Why without a head you ask? Well, I can add whatever head I like later on in GameMaker so that not all the police have the same head.

This is the first stage. The next stage will be to take the headless officer and turn it into a sprite that I can animate to move his shoulders. This is where it’s going to get tricky as I will need to work out how to get him to move his feet automatically rather than based on player movement. Something to try out tomorrow.
