Very busy weekend last week so there was no update. This weekend is also proving to be busy so I have decided to compile a list of things I need to do to complete the first floor and leave it at that. I have a week of development coming up starting from next Saturday – wOOt!
So, what’s left to do:
Finalise lighting for the entire floor; making sure illumination is adequate in areas where the player doesn’t have access to a torch/flash light.
Finish creating all the environment sprites
Look into the first usage of particles for electrical sparks
Water flow system; not as critical for the first floor but really important for the basement 😉
Look into the shadowing to see if it’s possible to tint individual shadows – this would allow objects to cast their own lighter shadows.
Anxiety system – when the player sees things that would disturb him certain things will occur (Shh).
First weapon – Yes, a weapon will be needed.
Additional interactions with the mysterious voice
Add in some sound effects – this is something I’m likely to return to over the course of development to build up the soundscape.
