I have successfully managed to built a basic UI that will serve as the skeleton for the examine object tool. This would work as follows:
The player locates an item that can be utilised.
On getting close to the item the action indicator will display (like the doors).
On pressing the action button the UI panel will display information about the item. The mouse cursor will display and the player can read through and then click the Close button to return to the action.
I haven’t got that far into yet but I do have the UI displaying on the screen. At the moment I’m having difficulties working out how to access the various elements of the UI from the trigger script and to change those elements to reflect the item in question.
